Refund Policy

Last updated: 26 August 2026

The short version

Unused credit is fully refundable within 30 days. Credit you have spent is not.

How billing works

Clerk runs on prepaid credit charged by usage: you add what you want, and there is no subscription, no monthly fee and no automatic renewal. When the credit runs out the Service stops — you cannot end up owing money, and nothing is charged to your card again on its own. So there is nothing to cancel: no subscription exists, and stopping is simply a matter of not using it.

Refunds of unused credit

Billing errors

If you believe a charge is wrong — a duplicate, something clearly out of step with your actual usage, or a task that failed because of a fault on our side and was charged anyway — contact us whether or not 30 days have passed. Where we confirm the error we will refund that charge in full or return the equivalent credit, whichever you prefer.

Service failures

If a fault on our side makes the Service unavailable, you can claim a refund of the unused credit for the affected period. Where a third-party model provider goes down and we passed the failure through, we will likewise refund charges arising from the failed requests.

How to claim

Email [email protected] with:

We reply within 5 business days. Once approved, the money goes back the way it came; how long it takes to appear depends on your card issuer, usually 5–10 business days.

Disputes

Please contact us before raising a chargeback with your bank — nearly everything is settled with one email, and it is considerably faster than a chargeback.
